[:en]JUE | Music + Art is bringing cassette culture back to China come this March with Awesome Tapes from Africa. Since 2006, Brian Shimkovitz's Awesome Tapes From Africa blog has been shedding light on obscure and wonderful sounds from across the African continent. As a DJ, he travels from club to festival to DIY space, bringing the blog to life with 2-3 hour sets blending folkloric pop, left-field dancefloor gems, and hip-hop beats he's collected from African marketplace finds. JUE | Music + Art returns for its seventh consecutive year in 2015 and includes a musical line up that spans the depths of music – from Korean indie pop to Australian punk veterans – and an art programme that focuses specifically on music and the sounds around us. Hip Hop shows meet Chinese rock photo exhibits while music heads talk on the state of the international music community in a local livehouse followed by a cassette DJ show; JUE has it all from cycling scavenger hunts to live shows on busses. 3/15 JUE | Music + Art 2014:The Fuzz“LOVE HATE”in Shanghai
[:en]Led by neurotic vocalist Jason - who drifted from the farthest reaches of Xi’an to Beijing on a journey of musical self-discovery - The Fuzz came into fruition in 2010. Featuring Ly, mArk, LBY and Jason, each have harnessed the power of their youth to unleash musical destruction on crowds. Their uniquely schizophrenic fusion of electro rock and garage was first embraced by Beijing’s Scream Records with an initial release in 2011 with Bomb Your Brain. 2013 saw the band sign with Modern Sky and release Running Horse.
