[:en]Hua Lun (花伦) is a Chinese band that started in Wuhan as a Britpop influenced band in 2004. The band’s early interests slowly changed, resulting in a drastic shift to the howling wall of Post-Rock noise that has characterized their sound since late 2006. 3/14 & 15 JUE | Music + Art 2014: Lee Ranaldo x Leah Singer Sight/Unseen
[:en]Sight/Unseen is a multimedia performance work presented by Lee Ranaldo – one of the founding members of Sonic Youth – and his wife Leah Singer. The project was first premiered at Nuit Blanche 2010 in Toronto, and has since been performed worldwide at key arts events including; The Rotterdam Film Festival, Cote Court festival in Paris, Contour Festival, and arte.mov Belo Horizonte.[:zh] 《视而不见》是一场由Sonic Youth吉他手Lee Ranaldo以及他的妻子－多媒体艺术家Leah Singer联合创作表演的多媒体艺术作品，2010年在多伦多白夜剧院首演，并于之后被Ranaldo 和Singer带到世界各地进行演出，包括：荷兰鹿特丹电影节、法国Cote Court电影节、Contour音乐节…等。[:]

[:en]Pictureplane’s punk rock-like approach to the production and distribution of his work is democratizing electronic music in the same way the Ramones, Minor Threat, and Black Flag liberated rock music in the 70s and 80s. [:en]Comrade Kim goes Flying is North Korea’s first “girl power” movie. It explores the story of a girl who’s trying to reach for her dreams, to carve out her own future. Comrade Kim Yong Mi is a North Korean coal miner. Her dream of becoming a trapeze artist is crushed by the arrogant trapeze star Pak Jang Phil, who believes miners belong underground and not in the air. 3/11 & 12 JUE X ACW Opening Event: Yangon Calling–Punk in Myanmar
[:en] Yangon Calling is a documentary movie about the Burmese Punk Rock underground, directed by Berlin based filmmakers Alexander Dluzak and Carsten Piefke. For young Burmese, punk provides a way to stand up against the pressures they have to face in their day-to-day lives. In the 90′s, sailors brought the first punk rock cassettes into the isolated country. Since then a scene with several hundred followers has emerged in Yangon. 3/7 JUE | Music x Lost Manual: Hangzhou New Noise
[:en]Hangzhou New Noise is a platform that showcases Hangzhou’s local creative talent, including everything from music to theatre, art, literature and design. The initiative was first conceived in Beijing back in 1997. Beijing New Noise helped to bring together a bundle of local musicians, who eventually laid the foundation of what is now the center of the country’s music scene. In 2007 Post-Beijing New Noise hosted another musical pilgrimage re-affirming Beijing’s position as the hub of China’s edgiest musical movements (though other cities now are certainly competing). [:en]Having released classic albums now lost to corporate slapsticks and an apathetic UK scene that’s struggled for a long time to get back into gear, Blak Twang remains undoubtedly a cornerstone of UK hip-hop. Also known by the name Tony Rotton, this boy is as British as bangers and mash, holding down South London via Birmingham and Manchester. A perennial stage and festival rocker, Twang’s standing stretches back to his revered LPs from the 90s. Blak Twang’s no nonsense lyrical genius features classic Briticisms, inspired by life in the big smoke. 3/8 & 3/15 JUE | Music + Art 2014: Paul Collins'Beat China Tour
[:en]Paul Collins’ Beat has an impressive lineage. Originally called The Beat, the band was founded by Paul Collins of The Nerves fame (1974). The Nerves were one of the pioneers of the burgeoning US punk-rock scene, independently releasing their own 4-song EP, which included that classic tune "Hanging on the Telephone" (which later became a hit for Blondie).[:zh]The Beat乐队由Paul Collins组建。他年少时在希腊、越南、和欧洲多国居住，之后才回到老家纽约。他曾在名声赫赫的朱丽亚音乐学院学习。后又搬去旧金山，并于1974年 同作曲Jack Lee 以及贝斯手Peter Case一起组建了The Nerves乐队。The Nerves后来成为美国蒸蒸日上的朋克摇滚乐先驱之一。他们独立发行了四首单曲，其中就包括后来被Blondie翻唱而大热的经典"Hanging on the Telephone"。[:]
