It’s happening.
We are very happy to announce a second show for Damien Rice in Shanghai, at 3pm on Sunday May 22. Damien’s first show, that same evening, received an enormous response and was sold out within three hours. We’ve worked extra hard to make this additional gig possible!
This second show is at the same venue (The SSO Concert Hall at 1380 Middle Fuxing Road – 复兴中路1380号). Tickets will be available from 9am, Saturday April 23rd on Gewara and Ticket 2010. All the details below.
For everyone who missed out, this is a second chance to catch one of our generation’s most poignant songwriters. Prepare to be transported by his brittle, raw and honest music in the Symphony Hall’s majestic setting.
Ticketing Details:
Tickets will be available from 9am April 23rd (Saturday) on:

- Gewara (Event URL TBA)
Both sites are Chinese language only, and accept local bank cards, and online payment services like Alipay. Children under 1.2m will not be allowed entry for this show.
Tickets are priced at 680 / 480 / 280 RMB, depending on seat location. Due to high demand, you can only book one ticket per account. For updates on the 180 / 80 RMB ticket tiers, follow the SSO’s official Wechat account (search for ‘上海交响乐团’). After payment and confirmation, please follow the instructions that Gewara or Ticket 2010 send you to collect your tickets on time.
The official SSO website will no be selling tickets for this show. There will also be no door tickets for this show.

About Contemporale:
The Contemporale series began in the autumn of 2014 as a collaboration between the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Split Works and hosts exciting contemporary musical acts in a classical music environment, at the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra’s new home in downtown Shanghai.
The 2014-15 season saw piano, guitar and strings from the Ukraine (Lubomyr Melnyk), Canada (Moonface) and the US (Bill Callahan). With fully sold out Chamber Halls across the season, Contemporale has expanded its programme for the 2015-16 season, taking in twice the number of artists and including performances in the 1,200 seat Concert Hall.

三个月前，由上海交响乐团和Split Works开功联合呈现的“当代变奏”系列Damien Rice上海专场在低调开票不到短短3小时的时间里，全场1,200张门票被热情高涨的大米粉丝们一抢而空。除周末放弃懒觉、摩拳擦掌地守候在电脑前的乐迷们，更有铁杆粉丝在清晨7点就早早来到音乐厅排队等候购票。在这里我们再次感谢大家的热情支持！由于米叔的乐迷数量过于庞大，当时很多乐迷未能及时抢到门票，连月来，我们也不断收到来自乐迷们的加场请求——因此，经过各方的共同努力，终于使Damien Rice上海专场的下午加场得以实现。
