2012 BLACK RABBIT MUSIC FESTIVAL CANCELLED

It is with heaviness in our hearts and sadness in our souls that we announce today the cancellation of the Black Rabbit Music Festival 2012.

The festival market is a difficult beast to predict. Black Rabbit Music Festival partners have decided that the risks of putting on a music festival in 2012 are just too great to proceed. The doubts raised over what will happen during the politically sensitive September/October period added to the profusion of other festivals in Shanghai this year allied to the continuing limitations of our festival philosophy* have lead to the decision that we will not be moving forward together this year.

(*It is our enduring belief that key components of a Music Festival are

1.      A unique, compelling and suitably strong international lineup

2.      Production values that present the music under the best possible conditions

3.      A festival environment that gives the fan the best possible range of other entertainment and reasonably priced and varied food and drink options.)

We will continue to work hard to take our festival dreams forward.

In the meantime, to all those people that came and supported Black Rabbit Music Festival last year, and to all those people that were looking forward to Black Rabbit Music Festival 2012, we apologize unreservedly.

We hope that you will continue to support all upcoming Taihe Live events, including 2012 NBA China Game Beijing. And all Split Works’ events, including JUE | Music +Art Festival which will return for its 5th year next March.

We hope that you will keep eyes open for the next installment in our festival odyssey.

Love and hugs
